Britain to Leave the European Union

The British have voted to leave the European Union (EU). This has come as a bit of a surprise because prior to the vote most polls were showing that the British would elect to stay in the EU, albeit by a narrow margin. Obviously the polls were wrong and the world’s reaction has been undoubtably negative. The British pound has dropped 8.28% and the Euro has dropped 2.29% against the U.S. dollar over night.

What is Brexit? (and why should I care)

On June 23rd the United Kingdom will vote on a referendum to decide whether Britain will leave the European Union (EU). Brexit is simply an abbreviation of “British exit.” A new poll conducted by the research firm ORB, who began polling the issue last year, reported that 55% of British citizens believed that Britain should leave the EU.
